The 28-year-old striker was a free agent having been released by Wolfsburg earlier this year.
Bendtner, who scored 45 goals in 171 appearances at Arsenal over the
course of a nine-year spell with the club, has signed a two-year
contract at The City Ground.
The Denmark international, who nurtured a cult following as ‘Lord
Bendtner’ during his previous time in England, has also represented
Birmingham City, Sunderland and Juventus on loan. Fawaz Al Hasawi, Forest’s chairman, announced the deal on social
media, tweeting: "Please welcome Nicklas Bendtner who has joined #NFFC
on a two-year deal."
Bendtner could make his debut in Sunday’s trip to Aston
Villa and may soon face his former club, with Arsenal set to visit
Forest in a League Cup third round tie on 20 September.
The Dane is the club’s 12th signing since the appointment
of Philippe Montanier as head coach at the City Ground in June and joins
former Arsenal team-mate Armand Traoré at the club.
