RUMOURS: Man Utd to activate De Gea extension clause

The Red Devils' outstanding player will soon agree terms till 2020 to see off interest from abroad, pocketing a pay rise in the process.

Manchester United are ready to activate a one-year contract extension clause in David de Gea's contract to ward off Real Madrid interest, reports The Sun.
De Gea, who signed a contract till 2019 after a move to the Bernabeu fell through in September 2015, will now stay an extra year and receive a pay increase.
Previously on £180,000 a week, the three-time winner of the United Player of the Year will pocket in excess of £200,000-per-week once he puts pen to paper on the new terms.
A club source had told The Sun that no problems are anticipated in extending De Gea's contract to 2020.
