West Ham reject £20m Payet bid

West Ham have rejected a second bid from Marseille for Dimitri Payet, as per a report from David Ornstein of the BBC.

The Hammers received a £20m bid from the French side, £1m more than their first offer for him, but chairman David Sullivan rejected it as the club are in a position where they do not need the money from a sale.

Payet is reportedly refusing to play for the Hammers as he looks to force through a move but manager Slaven Bilic insisted that the club would not sell the French international, so things are at a bit of a standstill.

West Ham might still end up selling Payet but will want a much bigger offer than £20m for him, especially considering the astronomical transfer fees that have been paid for lesser players in the last 12 months.

This is a story that will run and run but for the time being at least, West Ham are standing resolute.
