Man United star Wayne Rooney has made huge decision about his future - report

Wayne Rooney is reportedly "unlikely" to leave Manchester United next week

WAYNE ROONEY will remain at Manchester United until the end of the season, according to reports.

Wayne Rooney has been lined up for a move to China ahead of their transfer window deadline on Tuesday.

Jose Mourinho has admitted he cannot guarantee Rooney will still be at Manchester United by the end of the season.

But according to Sky Sports, Rooney is unlikely to move to the Far East before the Chinese transfer window closes next week.

The report claims Rooney's advisers have been contacted by clubs such as Chinese champions Guangzhou Evergrande, managed by Luiz Felipe Scolari and Beijing Guoan.

The 31-year-old hasn't featured in United's last five games since their 4-0 win over Wigan in the FA Cup fourth round at the start of the month.

United's record goalscorer has been out with a muscle injury and trained with the squad on Monday but didn't fly out with the team ahead of their Europa League match against St Etienne today (5pm).

In Rooney's absence United have won all five games including a 3-0 win over St Etienne in their first leg tie last week.

The United captain has predominantly been used as a squad player this season under Mourinho and has scored just two league goals in eight league starts.

Rooney currently has 16 months left on his contract at United but the club have the option of a one-year extension.
