Photos: Cristiano Ronaldo’s year has been so incredible that it’s almost unbelievable

On May 29, 2016, Cristiano Ronaldo was getting ready for the Champions League final. His only focus at that time was being crowned champion of Europe, but little did he know, that day would be the start of so much more.
In the 361 days since, Ronaldo has had arguably the greatest year in the history of the sport.
Take a look at his past year:
2016 Champions League
Ronaldo buried the clinching penalty kick as Real Madrid beat Atletico Madrid to claim their second Champions League title in three years.
Euro 2016
Ronaldo was hurt in the 25th minute of the final and wasn't on the pitch when Portugal prevailed in extra time for their first major tournament title, but he played a bigger role than anyone else on the team in capturing that trophy. His three goals during the tournament led Portugal and he was often a one-man attack, carrying his country to the final.
UEFA Best Player
Ronaldo was named UEFA's Best Player in Europe for the second time after a season that saw him not only triumph at Euro 2016 but also score the decisive penalty as Real Madrid won a shootout in the Champions League final.
2016 Club World Cup
It took extra time in the final, but Real Madrid won the Club World Cup almost entirely due to Ronaldo. He scored the equalizer to get the Merengues into extra time, then two goals in added time to bring home the trophy.
2016 Ballon d'Or
Win the Champions League and the Euros, you're probably going to be named the best player of the year. Ronaldo was.
FIFA Best Player 2016
FIFA agreed and also made him their player of the year.
Best Champions League  assistor
Ronaldo's assist to Toni Kroos against Napoli took him to 31 - and saw him move into top spot for Champions League assists ahead of former Manchester United team-mate Ryan Giggs.
Fourth-highest European international goalscorer of all time
Ronaldo scored his 70th international goal for Portugal in a World Cup qualifier against Hungary, becoming the fourth-highest European international goalscorer of all time. But what most people were talking about in March was the statue that appeared of Ronaldo at Madeira Airport in Funchal - Niall Quinn anyone?
Champions League 100 goals
Ronaldo completed a hat-trick against Bayern Munich as he became the first player to score 100 goals in the Champions League. He followed it up with a semi-final first-leg hat-trick against Atletico Madrid to become the first player score back-to-back trebles in the competition's knockout stages.
Best goalscorer in the top five European leagues
Ronaldo's strike against Celta Vigo meant he became the all-time leading goalscorer in the top five European leagues with 368 goals, beating Englishman Jimmy Greaves' 46-year record.
2017 La Liga
Barcelona made a late run to put pressure on Real Madrid, but the Merengues held on to be crowned champions of Spain. And, to no surprise, Ronaldo led the way. His 25 goals in the league were the best on the team.
2017 Champions League
No team had ever won the Champions League in consecutive seasons. That is until now, when Ronaldo scored a brace to capture lead Real Madrid to their second title in 12 month and finishing off a year to remember.
