Leo Messi won’t renew Barcelona deal this year (Cero Radio)

Onda Cero report that Messi is going to run down his contract to within six months
You’re only a few bad results away from a crisis at the highest level of football. How many ‘meltdowns’ have Real Madrid and Barcelona experienced over the years while hoovering up domestic and European titles?
It’s mountains being made out to be molehills nine times out of ten. However, Barcelona, it could be argued, are in the midst of a bit of a crisis right now. Either that or they’re on the brink of a huge crisis.
Josep Bartomeu and his board are not popular for the way they have run the club in recent seasons. They’re blamed for losing Neymar and one could only imagine the fury if they lost Lionel Messi. But it could happen.
According to Spanish radio station Onda Cero, the club legend will wait, and let’s not forget his contract expires next summer and he will be free to talk to clubs from January.
The likelihood is that he’s holding out for the board to change, for Bartomeu to resign. But there’s a real risk that Barcelona could lose the most valuable player in the world for absolutely nothing.
